Looks like he screwed up to me.....fly the aircraft first---do not try to restart that low to the ground.

Was that at IWM Duxford?

That prop was a really CLOSE call, huh! It's almost a miracle that the only apparent damage was to his gear. Well, in the pilot's defense, I can say that conventional gear airplanes are really tricky to land, and it's fairly easy to screw up the touchdown... Fortunately, nothing worse happened!

Numerous errors. When bouncing on the ground, he tried to force the tailwheel down by pulling back on the stick with too much velocity and flew up in the air instead.... Duh If you look close, there was a prop strike with the ground; dirt and grass flew.
Very lucky pilot.

Looked to me like the pilot three-pointed it on just before a raised taxiway launched him back into the air - like a ski jump and not a bounced landing.
He's just lucky the gear didn't collapse when he hit the side of the taxiway.

did he lose his engine initially?
to me it looks like a bad landing of a guy who completely missed the runway....
(not trying to be sarcastic or anything, just wondering)

No idea if he actually landed there on purpose, but he was probably trying to land the old girl on the grass - hard pavement is very unforgiving to narrow-carriage tail-draggers.
Whatever else he did, he didn't dump it on the nose, so he gets full points for execution.

If that was IWM Duxford(which it looks like) its mainly grass with one tarred runway and paved taxi ways. most of the war birds there do use the grass strips.
