Doggonit! I didn't want to be the first to comment on this one, but here goes:
I used to enjoy having a nice job, and I received a decent salary for it.
However, the owner of the company was in trouble and decided to sell the airplane I was flying and managing for him. I decided to strike it out on my own and become self employed as a contract pilot.
THAT was when my profits took a Steep Nosedive!
What a bummer...

Everybody is hurting this year. I just got back from a helicopter meeting and it seems all the operators are in the same boat. Bad fireseason and not much other work out there.... ::sick::

having to put looking for a mech job on hold for now and fall back on my social care skills (new job starts on Tuesday, that's if I can hike my way through all the snow drifts)

Retrain and learn to fly a steam turbine or a nuclear reactor and you should all be ok...
