Title: Bruckheimer and Cruise working on Top Gun 2

I just read this on a danish tv-site, they say that both of them are seriously working on it and are basically ready to start the production. I must say my initial feeling is not positive. Looking past Tom Cruise and all that entails, then I'm not sure how a Top Gun sequal will work so many years later (in more ways than one). Originally Top Gun 2 was dropped since the Navy didn't want to show it's new advanced technology, how about now more than 20 years later (even if we now have the internet)? The original idea for Top Gun 2 was to have Maverick be a Top Gun instructor and having a young hot-shot pilot much like himself in his younger days, except female. I personally think a new pilot in a Top Gun movie could be good, and after Chevalier du Ciel then I think the female pilots need a "good guy" part. One more thing: The Tomcat is retired, will it be the Super Hornet and will that be a single or twin-seater?
Any thoughts, additional info etc?
