You can't ever have too much oil for a round engine airplane! As an old acquaintance of mine said of his round-engined bird, "If there ain't oil leaking out of it, there ain't any oil in it!" I gotta admit that has the ring of truth to it. ::cowboy::

We had 2 Super Constellations parked in Camarillo for a long time. They were both flyable and both had 40GAL hopper tanks per engine (!) if I remember right. You don't think in quarts when you have an 18cyl round motor. It was great to see them start up! The whole town was covered in blue smoke!! ;D

One of the local cargo outfits runs a fleet of DC-6's and 3 C-47 Commando's, they order motor oil by the tank car and never worry about corrosion in the wings. ::rofl::
