I rather like the guest aircraft this week ;)
And they are doubtless right be cautious! ;D

Yeah, I'd be cautious too.
One question regarding the Tomahawk someone here might be able to answer: how does its spin characteristics compare to the Diamond C1?

Not flown a Diamond. The tommyhawk spins like a top but seemed perfectly predictable and reliable in recovery and defiant of the its dramatic reputation on the few occasions I've spun one.

yeah, this was supposed to be a Tommyhawk. We try to mix it up every now and then....
My bro is getting quite good at drawing all kinds of models....

Don't worry I recognized it as such :) The "spinniest" airplane I've flown so far is the C1 and I wanted to compare it to the Tomahawk's reputation.
For the record, the C1 spins very well, and requires proper pilot inputs to recover. And recovery is not instant either.

Yes, "letting go" won't get you out of trouble in the tommy either. And it obeys the Law of Conservation of Rotational Momentum beautifuly -- speeding up the spin rotation as your lower the nose and shift the CofG...
Personally that last is what I put its reputation down to -- people panicking when the control inputs for recovery initially seemed to have made things worse.
