Woohoo! |:)\ Now, I wonder if one could do the same with the Concorde? Btw, wasn't there a development link between the Concorde and Vulcan btw? Maybe shared knowledge of the wing-design or something?
It may have been a cold-war nuclear bomber but I see it just as a beautiful aircraft that's a tribute to the people who created it |:)\

The Vulcan was used as an engine testbed for Concorde.
Of course the other thing they have in common is the ability (along withthe Spitfire and one or two others) to reduce me to watery-eyed snivelling!

they will never get a concorde up to flying disply condition, there was a discussion about it last year in flypast and pilot magazine. seen XH558 do fast taxi runs at R.A.F Luechars last year got me drooling as it went past and brought back memories of the last time i saw it fly in the early '90's before it got grounded.

She is one beautiful aircraft. I am glad she is back in the air.

Many years ago, (circa 1982), yours truly and the rest of AAITC 109 (ST) course were found asleep inside the Vulcan gate guard at RAF Finningly after a night on the town.. ::drinking:: ::drinking:: We also managed to "borrow" one of the seats from said aircraft for a week. Twas all considered "high jinx" back in those days.. ::whistle:: ::whistle::
Incidentally, of the 4 members of 109 course that made it to operational flying: Yours truly, the "G-man" is flying helicreatures, "Spike" married my sister and is now a Captain with Easyjet, "Nick" was shot down and killed in Iraq, and "Panda" is still flying Nimrods out of Kinloss.
