Great Pics. On question what is the aircraft behind the p51. Looks like C130 props but there's invasion stripes on the wing. Either way looks like you had a blast.

It is a C-130. It has invasion stripes to commemorate a WW2 unit. I don't remember which one it was though. As for having a blast IT WAS AWSOME!!! Still one more day for the show!!

Four B17's in one place!?!? That's an awesome sight to see when you consider there are so darn few of them left in flying condition anymore. That plus two B24's , an Me109, a Hurricane, and a gaggle of P47's makes for one helova show!
Did they get all six bombers in the air at one time? That would have been quite a sight. ::bow::

ok ok you got the ME/Bf 109 and the Hurri (looks like a Mk1a) so where the Spits and the Lancs? EH EH EH!!!!! ::complaining:

All six bombers were in the air at one time!! Quite the sight and sound. Unfortunately the announcer wouldn't shut up when they were flying. Someone in the crowd was yelling at him to be quiet, and the announcer was yelling back in the microphone for him to shutup!! They never flew in tight formation though just a circle. Wind was gusting at 25k. Also an F-18 that was performing had to cut his show short when he had an engine failure.
As for the Spitties and Lanc, who knows. They should've been there, but weren't must be the rising $$$ of fuel costs. >:( >:(

Great pictures, but such a shame that the announcer would speak over the sound of the bombers flying, obviously that's not a aviation-speaker, I hope there was a formal complaint listed to let the people know they want to hear the sound of the planes for the next event. It's like a tv-show where they test cars and they have music over it, sure it can look pretty and give fuel to fantasy with classical music over the car sliding thrue a corner in slow motion but other times it's just nice to hear the engine and see the car driven without cuts every half second, it makes it impossible to see how the vehicle handles, and something similar goes for flying planes as well.
One question: Was it ironic that you just listed the P-51 as "some plane" where it perhaps is a very famous one or what?
Next question: Were you really serious that the guy in the photo muscled in, there was no winking smilie but the dude seemed to be posed for the picture so it was hardly a last second jump-in-the-frame manouver.

I knew it was a P-51. I said that cause it's so recognizable. :) :) And that ugly guy who just muscled in was me!

There was also a simulated WW2 battle. A bunch of enthusiasts brought in trucks and tanks from both sides of the conflict, and had a mock battle in a field just off of the airport. Really well done. The P-47's participated by doing straffing runs on the German positions! Really good!!

Oh one more thing. Might as well put this here. For those who don't know, I work recycling trucks, doing curbside pickup. Today I picked up from an old thrift store. They put out books in the recycling that no one buys. I was looking through, and I found a book about Charles Lindbergh from 1928 in there!! Only a year after his flight!! But alas, in accordance to the recycling rules of hardcover books, the cover was torn off!! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( I searched in vain to find that cover, but no luck. Well I took the book anyways (stealing from the company). Even missing some pages ::complaining: ::complaining: ::complaining:: Some good pictures in there though. Not relevant to the topic, but still..... :'( :'( :'( :'(

yep its amazing what you find, found W/CMDR Guy Gibson's enemy coast ahead, reach for the skies by "tin legs" Badder and the latter days of colditz by Major(?) Pat Reid plus a few others over the country on my travels.

Gil, you can always take the book to a book-binder and have them recover it for you. I've done that with several rare books for my parents.

Here's one pic to get the motor going. Taken a couple weeks ago at the St. Thomas airshow. Didn't land but did a couple of flybyes with a P-51. I believe this P-51 will also be at the show. Not the best pic, but I'll get better at Thunder over Michigan.

why is "Sally B" on part of the wall paper? and looking at that list I doubt the one claiming to be the "Movie Memphis Belle" is actullay the one since "Sally B" played the part even though both of them could of palyed the part at diffrent times. (why is always ME that puts a damper on things?)
