Title: Ah... duct tape!
Post by: Frank N. O. on July 29, 2008, 05:28:59 PM
Now with a million and two uses ::rofl::
I have a feeling that might give a lot of mechanics good ideas. And it might work too to keep pilots quiet, especially if they got facialhair ouch!!! Then the next time the mechanic just needs to make that skrtch-sound pulling some tape off the role and the pilot will run away ::rofl::

but i wonder... what was julio duct-taping over there?
::thinking:: By the looks of it... The cabin air vent whose intake is on the leading edge, and the left hand instrument panel cooling air intake? ::loony::

It bears repeating here that a Redneck's tool box is filled with just two items; WD-40, and Duct Tape.
If it should move and it doesn't, it needs WD-40
If it moves and it shouldn't, it needs Duct Tape.

This is exactly the same for aircraft enginers tool case but with one more item : the "Facom pen". This wonderful allows its user to answer very quickly to a pilot complaint on the loobook and, even without the need of hand wash at the end ... it sounds like : "connectors cleaned, ground check performed" or "computer reset : OK" or "connectors inspection and test : OK" and so on ...
And about the tape ... it's sometimes allowed by the Aircraft Maintenance Manual to use some kind of tape ... but it isn't often ! But I cannot resist to show you that video : http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=N3srEUzISC0
People may be affraid about that but it's only a wear tape used to avoid any shaffing marks on the wing flap skin caused by a rubber stop. the only problem is that you must never do it with passengers on board ... especially if they have camera !!
