Title: COMPLETE THE CARTOON CONTEST (JULY 2008)
Post by: Stef on July 01, 2008, 10:49:27 AM
It's time for a new contest! Can you think of a funny caption for this cartoon? Mike and I came up with this image about heli-skiing during our skiing holidays last winter (obviously) but so far we couldn't think up a funny line that could go along with it. So, ladies and gentlemen, please go ahead!

We're already looking forward to your contributions! Those little contests always turn out to be a lot of fun!!

As for prizes: We'll have two this time!!

1) Everybody who participates will take part in a drawing for a Japanese Skywriter T-Shirt (http://www.chickenwingscomics.com/shop-usa/product_info.php?info=p25_-Japanese-Skywriter--T-Shirt.html). So, don't be shy if you think you idea might not be the funniest one. Everybody has a chance to win!

2) And for the person who we think has the funniest idea (as usual this will be our discreet decision by intransparent and subjective criteria), will win a one year subscription to the brand new comic magazine "The Funniez" (http://www.thefunniez.com/), which will be launched in two weeks. You can already tell it is going to be an awesome paper, because it will feature the world's best comic strip! (No, not that one, not that one either, us, of course!!)

But, as usual, the most important part is not to win, but to take part! Have fun and knock yourselves out!  |:)\

On a side note the local FAA office asked any and all persons with knowledge of who the pilot is to call them at 1-888-USER-FEE.  They will waive all fees for information about the pilot."

Title: COMPLETE THE CARTOON CONTEST WINNER !!
Post by: Mike on July 11, 2008, 08:38:22 PM
We have a winner!

Well two winners, actually....

Ready?

First I want to say that is was as hard as always to pick out just one winner since there were soooo many good lines submitted. We thought this cartoon was a lot harder compared to the previous ones, maybe a reason why we had it laying around for many months with no good lines. But you guys helped out a lot! Thank you. The criteria for us was to come up with something original and new and we have found a winner:

The line we thought was the most original, even though it is very technical was:

Heli-Skiing:
"When life gives you KLMN012345Z01020KT1SMBLSNOVC005A2986, make lemonade."

by "Thunder Eagle"

to make it even funnier we should go with KASE (Aspen, CO) or KMMH (Mammoth, CA) for the airport identifier!  ::rofl::

So:
Congratulation "Thunder Eagle", you won the subscription to "The Funniez"!

Ok, and now to the drawing:

This is how we came up with the winner for the t-shirt:
We made a list with everybodies name on it and gave everybody a number. Then we used 2 dices with 10 sides to come up with a number and Stefan rolled "17".
And #17 was . . .

. . . "Ralph432" !!!
