Eureka boy dies in helicopter crash at Lake of the Ozarks KSDK
A nine-year-old boy from Eureka died in a helicopter crash at the Lake of the Ozarks, according to the Missouri State Water Patrol.
KSDK reports that rescuers recovered Zachary West's body from the helicopter Monday morning.
The helicopter had taken a group on a site-seeing tour when it was coming in for a landing at a private residence and spun and barrel rolled into the water Sunday around 7:20 p.m., according to the Water Patrol.
Four other people who were on board the helicopter swam to safety.
Word on another forum from person who saw it happen was that there were "50mph gusts" at the time.
