Title: New Year's Comet
Post by: TheSoccerMom on December 30, 2007, 01:16:26 AM
New Year's is going to be an excellent time to view Comet 8P/Tuttle.  It is an emerald green color...  sounds pretty neat!

Here is a link with more information:

www.spaceweather.com (http://www.spaceweather.com)

I'll be outdoors looking, if it's clear out!    :)
(The last e-mail notice I got from that website got me outdoors in time to count 72 shooting stars in mid-December.  It was amazing!)   |:)\

That Tuttle guy's keeping busy I see.. He's spotted a lot of them comets lately....

5.8 mag huh? It'll be a strain here in the city but might be the best excuse to go for a ride.. Fire and beers come in mind  ;)

Anyone knows where it is on the sky? Didn't have time to look at those sites all too well for a map..

EDIT: Silly me, the map was right before my eyes  ::silly::
