Absolutely amazing---I believe the Mars was not only the largest flying boat ever used in regular service (US Navy) but was also the second largest (flying boat) ever built, behind the Hughes "Spruce Goose" !
Glen Martin, like Howard Hughes was a true aeronautical genious |:)\ |:)\ |:)\

On second thought--did, perchance, Russian A/C companies ever equal or better the Mars??????  (the ground effect ship doesn't count)

Jim, I don't think so.  And you're right, the ground effect ship doesn't count.

This makes my flying the Platypus down main street in the little Baja villages appear tame by comparison!   ::eek:: ::unbelieveable:: :o

OH NO, not the flying "Platypus down mainstreet thing" again---

No wonder the Federalis have a 2 dollar reward posted (dead or whatever) ;)

No they don't Jim.  I pay them off (bribe, yeah) by giving away free Race Team t-shirts and caps.  They go a long ways down there!   ;D ;)
