Title: Does anyone have any suggestions
Post by: indyhoosker on November 02, 2007, 12:49:01 AM
My wife works for an airline. I love the free travel benefit and think it would be of GREAT benefit to an employer.

Does anyone have a spouse or partner that has found a way to use the benefits in a job and get paid well for it. Or does anyone know any companies that recruit people with these benefits?

I would really appreciate any input.

Thanks for the help.

Good advice airtac!

Do what you want for a living and keep your woman!
I don't think there are any better benefits out there than the free travel-thing.
I wish my wife would have that!!

The free travel benefit is intended for personal use.  I believe you'd find the airline...  less than pleased... if they found out you were using the travel benefit for work.

The idea is that if you are working for another company, travel for them is paid for by them.  You are *not* supposed to use non rev or pass travel for buisiness activity.  If the airline finds out they will revoke your travel benefits.  It's possible for them to not only revoke them for you but for *everyone* who gets them from her as well as limit hers to work purposes only.

Here is a quote from a major airline's non revenue travel page:

Quote
Remember, pass travel is to be used for pleasure and authorized emergency purposes only and may never be used in connection with business activity.

Nonrev travel is a big deal and it is *not* considered a right.  It's given as a priviledge and at the pleasure of the airline.  Abuse of the benefit will result in losing it.
