Hello, my name is Chuck!
There’s this old joke going “How do you know there’s a pilot at a party?” I’m sure all of you know the answer to that. Well, this strip is our take on it!
Actually, having an interesting job is a good conversation starter. In my case it usually goes something like this:
“So, what do you do?”
“I’m a self-employed comic artist.”
“Wow, that’s cool! [pause] Uhm… and can you make a living off that?”
Not to ragg on pilots, but I had almost this exact thing this weekend. I was at a wedding and the brides dad is a pilot. When he got around the table to me, it was the best shock value I have ever seen. “Oh me, I’m an FAA Aviation Safety Inspector.” Man I’ve never seen an conversation change topics & direction so fast in my life. The redirect would have made a politician jealous.
HA HA ! ! ! That’s awesome! 🙂
We should make a strip out of that! I can already visualize Chucks face!!
Too funny…..
Thanks for sharing that story!
I myself know a lot of pilots who are just like that (“Hi, I’m a pilot! Oh, my name? It’s John Doe.”). But I also know many pilots who are less cocky about it as well. 😛

At the air club where I trained, we have a saying: some people enjoy flying, other people enjoy being pilots. 😉
haha! I just sent this comic to my sister. She’s the doctor, I’m the pilot! Once in her university someone had an accident. At least ten doctors run by and said: I’m a doctor!
