Duty free perfume

So, this week was supposed to kick off a bunch of news about our new book and about us going to release this baby during AERO 2020 in Friedrichshafen, Germany. But unfortunately, the show got “postponed” to some later date because of the virus. The chickens at Roost Air were more concerned about the bird flu than this one, but for Stefan and myself this is a pretty hard hit. We had such a great spot for our booth at AERO after deciding not to go with the artist venue this time and go an exciting new route. And we were really looking forward to meeting all of you again or for the first time and see reactions to the new book first hand …

But it is what it is. We will regroup and we will not keep the new book from you but release it online instead. There are still more good news coming soon which especially our supporters on Patreon will benefit from as we are trying to make up for not going to the show and the summer slowdown of Patreon activity.
Look for more blogs, posts and announcements soon on all of our outlets. We need a few days to come up with a Plan B.

In the meantime, enjoy today’s “Moment in Aviation History”!

    At least maybe in the new dates I will be able to come take a look at you. The normal dates don’t work for me… 🙂

    much panic for naught on the virus, but it likely is a smart move on the delay. Wouldn’t want it to get help passing the Flu this season in deadliness.

    So far, my favorite “instruction” for prevention is from Round Rock Texas:

    Wash your hands like you just got done slicing Jalapeños for a batch of nachos and you need to take your contacts out.
    (that’s like 20 seconds of scrubbing, y’all.)

    Wet sock smell, eh… Ah, the good old days, when fume events originated in the bottom of the front cockpit.

    Having seen the Boeing Model 40 on display at the Western Antique Aicraft and Automobile Museum at Hood River, OR, USA (A definite “you should visit” imho) I can imagine what people must have smellt like after a long journey in the early days. “Very cramped” is being generous when it comes to the passenger compartment. I can’t imagine the open Curtis? in the comic would have been much better.

    The Curtiss must have had stronger ventilation – mind you, that is not _better_ ventilation.

    Let me compliment you on the less incorrect wording “you should visit”, even if I would have preferred “well worth a visit” or “most recommended” or such. Having been on the barricades of 1968, I am one of those who do not like to be told what we “should” do, and absolutely refuse to be told “must see”, “must read” and all those.

    @Karel A.J. Adams

    Point taken. I’ll try to keep it in mind.

    I’ll reword: If you’re in the area I can definitely recommend a visit to WAAAM. I’d even go so far as to recommend it over the Evergreen Aviation & Space museum in McMinnville if you have only time for one or the other. Even though the Spruce Goose is likely to leave an impression too.
