Are you a terrorist, sir?
Seriously, why do they always ask you at check-in if you packed your luggage yourself? Are there many people who don't pack themselves? And if so, who did it for them? I wish I had someone to do it for me, but the days my mum would do it for me are over and my girlfriend would probably laugh at me if I asked her. As for my personal assistant, I can't afford one yet. And on second thought, even if I could, I think I still would not let him/her pack my undies.
And I never was approached by a weird looking guy with tousled hair and glasses who offered me to help me pack or asked me to deliver a package to a friend or any of such things. If this ever happens though, I am such a goodhearted and overtrustful person that I would of course accept without thinking or asking twice. But would I lie to the personell at the check-in counter and security checks? Of course not. That's a bad thing, everybody knows that, so that must be the reason they ask.
I sometimes wonder why they don't just ask you point-blank if you're a terrorist or a drug mule. That would maybe be as effective. But then again, maybe this whole procedure is not so much for fishing out bombs, but other weapons of mass destruction, such as hairsprays and nail scissors.
Okay, you guys know we're just kidding! Those people just do their jobs and it's a pity we need them, but good to have them. One last word of caution though: Chuck here is a schooled professional, so don't try this yourself, because you might get shot!
