Backcountry Airstrips . . .
This new strip was featured a couple of months ago by "Americas Flyways" magazine. We have all been there, haven't we? And not everybody had a "human range extender" on board. In a helicopter I can land at a lot more places in case "the urge" presents itself, which I like a lot. Thanks everybody for writing us your own stories about the human factor! We received a lot of fan-mail! Keep 'em coming!
But there is also a very serious issue behind this joke, which is the proposed closing of back-country airstrips all over the nation. "Americas Flyways" is doing a great job in helping keeping them open. Check them out at www.americasflyways.com and let them know if you have any ideas or "the necessary pull" to help. I sure need those strips every summer when I travel throughout the whole country fighting fires. . .
Thanks guys!
