Adam A500 & A700 has anybody seen this bird ?
« on: June 15, 2007, 06:32:33 PM »
I was surfing the net & ran across this aircraft built by the Adam Aircraft company. It's a composite that has CENTERLINE THRUST . I was wondering if somebody could see if it shows up at O'kosh and let me know what they think of it. Is the company having delusions of grandeur or what ?

Have you seen the recent remake of Miami Vice????? You can see these birds fly in that movie.. Pretty impressive!!!

Also, on wiki for the A500

"In 2006 the 309 was loaned to the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum and is now on display outside."
It's all Greek to me!

The Adam 500 is a viable aircraft, has been certified, and deliveries should start soon----actually seems to deliver on the performance promises, unlike Cessna's mixmaster ::cowboy::

Kinda interesting, I was out BBQing tonight on our front lawn, and low and behold, some plane that looks exactly like an A500 zooms about 100' over my head.   ::eek::  It came back a few min later doing the same thing.  The next pass got a closer look, I was ready this time, and it looks like Grand Forks mosquito control is using them to disperse their chemicals.  Kinda interesting, hes been flying around all evening, trying to get a picture of him, but its tuff.  What a job, fly around an A500 right above the tree tops, avoiding light poles, parking garages, etc.

Not sure what it could be, I spose it could be an A500 but it seems pretty expensive for just mosquito control.....

To answer my own question, here is a link to a pic I found on the Grand Forks Mosquito Control website.

So it's not an A500.....  What is it?

Thank you Frank, you are right, I don't think it looks exactly like an Adam either ::)

The Skymaster was designated model number C337 by Cessna.  It was derived from the original C335 design.  The state of North Dakota has a pressurized version (P337) based in Bismarck that they use for short hops when they do not need the state's King Air or if the King Air is busy.
