Naturally, in this day and age, the back of my brain is screaming "419!!!!"

I'd like a plane too... all donations can go to my lawyer in Nigeria.  ::rofl::

If you're for real, good luck.

This gentleman does not have a website that ends ".ru", which is the usual domain for russian websites.  I'm checking on this, and will get back to everyone here with my search results.  He might be legit, but I'll do some checking anyway.

is this spam?

If you're a real person, then welcome to the coop!  ::wave::

But we don't like to see things like that in our forum too much.
This is a place to have fun and chat about chickens and planes, not to try to swipe some money!

Hehehe... how about a strip in which Chuck is suckered into sending money to a Nigerian Princess?
He could really make some trouble for himself if he thinks he'll soon be rich...

My Bride Replies,

Quote
How are you?

OK, that is a good idea I will say. Nobody tried that before. BRide scam, yes, but not that. May be he is genuine and naive?! I do not know. How he is going to pay for maintanance and fuel once he has enough money to buy airplane. You know better that to buy an airplane is one thing, but to maintain another. May be he has to present a business plan for the his idea-airplane. That would be fair I guess if he adresses the potential investors, right?  I understand, may be it is way easier in Russia, just ask a favour of mechanic here and there, fuel here and there, but still if he wants to fly a alittle or a lot, he has to have other ideas for usage of it. May be I am wrong.

Yes, my Bride is a Russian Citizen.  I'll keep her checking.

In vain you so. I not from Nigeria, and from Great Novgorod. And a site has refused for the reason, that I can tell about myself and in LJ.
Here mine e-mail the Novgorod provider accord@novline.ru .
Only do not think, that I have decided so simply to collect here money on plane. It would be too silly for my part. I work much what to accelerate accumulation. Someone will help - well. If no - I shall try to consult one. But I shall fly!  :)
Here a photo of my flight first in a life.http://fota.mota.ru/view_list.php?id=248561 In that flight have allowed to gain height and to make the right bend.  There was a weight of emotions!   :D
And here http://fota.mota.ru/view_list.php?id=25087 a photo of my grandfather. It flied on a bomber. Bombed Berlin in 1941.
I hope enough proofs, what not from Nigeria?  :)
And here with brides really be more cautiously. In this business it is a lot of speculators.

Hello Andrey!

My wife has advised me she has been in correspondence with you, and you have responded to her.  Please forgive our reluctance to accept you as a real person up until now, but there are many scammers on the internet who are looking for nothing but money.  I only wished to determine if you were for real, and I now know that you are sincere in your interests.

Congratulations to you for your determination to become a pilot!  There are many who fly for a living that are only interested in the money.  There are others (like me) who fly because we love it above all else.  Is this what you wish to do with your life?

Congratulations to you also for your determination to acquire a new airplane for your Aero Club.  I and others here will advise you to look for something other than a Cessna 152 to fly in Russia, but it is a good choice for a trainer.  You might consider some of the newer airplanes being produced in Germany or Switzerland, like the products from the Grob or Diamond (Katana) companies.  Parts support would be much easier for one of these products in Great Novgorod than for a 30 year old design from Cessna in the USA.

Again, I welcome you to this forum and please forgive us for our caution.  We only wish to determine you are for real.

RC

Absolutely truly! My work quite arranges me. But in a life there should be hobbies. Without them it is boring to live. And the aspiration to fly it is more than a hobby.
Here a good example. Owner Zlin-142, the former pilot-fighter, now works as the mechanic. Several years ago has made a cabin for virtual flights in IL-2.  And now fills the plane.

Rooster Cruiser,I thank you for recommendations Grob and Diamond (Katana).
I have had time to visit already at several forums. But your most benevolent.  :)

I dont think that Cessna market of spare aprts and so is that much better tahn Diamond or so. And price of 152 and Da-40 is more than uncomparable.

The Katana is a very easy airplane to maintain, most of the time...

...until you have to adjust the rudder cables, for instance...

Still, a great little airplane!

I'd agree that you should look for something other than a Cessna.  They are great planes, but the parts cost is outrageous even here in the USA.
