Good luck dude. Been there, done that. Make sure you hand out cigars afterwards (although my instructor and the examiner were the only ones who took them). Afterwards we'll all go to a strip club and get doused with beer! ::drinking:: ::drinking:: ::drinking:: ::drinking:: ::loony:: ::loony:: ::loony:: ::loony::

Good Luck, my friend.  You will do fine.  Just remember that the examiner is there to PASS you.  Nail the oral portion and 9 times out of 10, the flight portion is more of a formality.  I was totally nervous during my flight portion...to the point of when we were taxiing back to the tiedowns, I said...."Well...I guess I need to schedule another flight with you after some practice."  The DPE looked at me and said "only if you want to pay me more money for a joyride."  Needless to say I was shocked.

The great thing about my DPE was that he said that he could see that when I was "flying the plane" and not thinking too much about what I was doing, I did fine.  It didn't help that we had some nasty turbulence and light snow, either.

Just remember that once you get your ticket, the real learning can begin.  The best advice my CFI gave me was to not just jump into the plane with your family and friends until YOU are ready.  I did a few "solo" flights to check my own skills before I took the wife and family for a ride.

If you thought it was fun flying around with a CFI in the left seat....wait until you bring a non-pilot along for a cross country and watch how big their eyes get!!!

Be safe and good luck.

Only advice I can give from my own, is to take a deep breath and relax.  The examiner wont care if you take an extra 15 seconds to collect yourself before a steep turn.  I also always double checked check lists etc.  Not sure if you do this, but I had a small note boot (like a 2X4 inch scribble pad) with manuver procedures in it incase I got lost in one.

Good Luck, beers are on me afterwards! |:)\

Good luck!

Since undatc offered to pay the beers, we can start to plan for the beer dousing!
We're gonna need LOTS of beer!  ::drinking::

But try not to think about it too much until AFTER you checkride!
I am sure you'll do fine. (especially after all the "training" you got here in the forum  ;))

The ride went well, the examiner actually knew my dad and threw in a few additional questions and skill checks because he knew what kind of pilot my father was, hence he suspected I had experience pulling the same stunts. For example, this is the first time I've heard of an examiner having a student put it in on a grass strip that was totally unknown to him. For that matter it's the first time I've heard of an examiner having a student put it on a grass strip at all. Handled it like glass, smooth. Only had one hi-cup during an emergency procedure when I said the opposite of what I was actually doing, but my action over my words was correct and I immediately checked myself on what I had said. Otherwise all went well. Still grinning like an idiot.
