"Leaving on a Jet Plane"  is by the...  Mamas And The Papas

I really like that song, as well as "steam powered Aeroplane" by the... Soggy Bottom Boys   (yes, it's bluegrass style)

Oh, and I ended up with an MP3 player... I do the whole 1 earbud in an ear thing as well.   We don't use MP3 players etc anytime we are below 10,000 ft, but that's not really practical in a Cessna.     Many of the new headsets have an input jack for an MP3 player, in that case you are the only one who can hear it (doesn't do anything for the passengers).  Many of the captains I fly with have that style of headset and almost all of them take advantage of it to listen to music.  Usually it's the ANR headsets that have the input jack and the jack will be with the ANR controls in the cord.    I have "poor man's ANR" and just put earplugs under the headset and turn everything up louder...

It's not a "flying" song per-say but Give Me Shelter by the Rolling Stones was a crucial bit of music in the final scenes of Air America (going to the rescue in a C-123)

Well, a bit OT, but I remember a clip of some band playing on wing, or next to wing of a T154 (Russian plane, smoewhat resembling 727 if you dont know it), I think I saw it once or twice sometimes like last September or October - anyone else having such a strange flashback?  ::silly::

Gary Allan:  "Where I need to be"

He talks about flying anyway.

A number of his videos are shot at airports actually.
