I think I'm in love with that bike.  Unbelieveable I just keep staring at it.  How come no one ever thought of doing that before?  I HAVE to have one.

That was taken in the late '90s in Georgetown SC, across from International Paper. There's a steel mill there which fairly frequently is visited by cargo ships, and the tugs just hang out there 'til needed.

The guys in Charleston were much busier, and I couldn't get a good shot of 'em together like this.

Ho, that makes a lot more SENSE!!   Grin   No, it's "the signal" from our favorite insane movie, er, um, TRAINING FILM, "Team America", which I think we watched on standby about 85 times last summer alone.  I've even been treated to a particulaly silly load giving "the signal" while they were still on the airplane!!   ROFL

Hey, we put the FUN in dysfunctional.....   Bow

Hey G-Man, is that Richfield as in Utah?  Were you there last summer?   Smiley

Here are a couple more of a grass strip in Idaho..  picked up the "kids" in the "minivan" when they were done with their fire.  Both shots look down the runway, down-canyon.  The incredibly high quality of the photos is due to my having a $3.00 throw-away camera...  sorry.  Just up the canyon in the woods is a campground with a natural hot springs...  I tried like hell to find a mechanical problem so we could get stuck there, but..  alas, no luck.   Smiley

Yep---although I did'nt get there till late August. I was stuck in Richfield with the 3.2 beer----although it still beats the mostly "dry" Kentucky. Did you make it to Utah?

Yes, one of the 3 Otters covers Utah every season -- out of Cedar City.  I've spent three years based there and it was a good thing, except for that "welcome-to-the-dark-ages" routine.  The country itself is beautiful....  we got to check out fires in 6 National Parks and 3 National Monuments from there...  just blows your mind!  Awesome scenery!!  Plus, it was a nice base and the Flight Service there on the field was wonderful...  they've talked me across the state more times than I care to admit, through some nasty stinking weather.   Sweat  Sure is pretty country!

But....  Nevada has REAL BEER....   Cheesy

Hey, Richfield was pretty cool once I found the State Liquor store---gal behind the counter said she knew I wasn't a local---they sidle in through the door wearing sunglasses and ballcaps hoping the other church members won't recognize them ROFL
Some really great folks out at the airport though---they have a pancake breakfast every Saturday morning ---lotsa fun!! salute

Soccermom---Have to agree the scenery is very picturesque. I made it over to Goblin State Park on one of my days off---that place is awsome:

It has got to be one of the best jobs in the world----you get paid to go to all these places.................

Flyboygil---I'm assuming you mean the one "Dancin & Swimmin", She was a seasonal currently studying in Salt Lake City.

airtac, ah the liquor store in town opposite the shoe store I beleive-----I know it well. Never did make it to the breakfast, we get stuck on the other side at the helibase. We did do a bar-b-que at the end of the season with dispatch, but I think all the SEAT guys and airtac guys had left. Hav'nt heard if we are going back this year or not yet.
