They say any landing in which you walk away from is a good landing, but how would you walk away from this one? I'd say this plane is "well hung" :o ;D :P

I'll bet the pilot was really WIRED after that landing!!! Shocking. More power to him! Hope he had an OUTLET for all his frustration. Must have been quite a SWITCH.

This is why you don't try to make emergency landings on roads.  The plane probably needed pretty extensive repairs.  Wires cut into an aluminum skin pretty badly, which is the main reason it didn't fall to the ground too.

I must say though that I can't fathom how a plane could land there without cutting the wires or breaking the posts? But most importantly: Was anyone hurt?

actually that plane was landing at an airport...... Boeing King County in Seattle. on final he hit wake turbulence and it bounced him off centerline into the wires about 300 yards from the tower. the pilot was fine and the plane had relatively little damage.

heh, a Master CFI friend of mine has an aversion to Convairs....he caught a wake turbulence in a 152 off of one once and did some unplanned aerobatics  :P

In Kenai, where I learned to fly, the C-130's spend a lot of time shooting touch and goes.  I learned early on to be wary of wake turbulence  ;D

I hear that even a 1900 gets close to being knocked out of the sky by convairs...

There is a bar here in Bremerton, where the owner is friends with the pilot of that aircraft.  He's got the prop from that cessna prominently mounted on the wall, right next to his wall mounted Wright Cyclone, and the Packard Merlin on an engine rack.  Oh yeah, the owner (who's name I cannot remember) was involved with a P-51 air racing team.  I'll find out next time I'm in there.

The incident was all over the news up here when it happened.  I wonder how much he got CHARGED for getting it down.  He was probably pretty AMPed.

As far as anyone here being a last word freak with these ACID retorts, well, I'll DISCHARGE that judgement to someone who's PLATE has more room than mine and who's POLARITY is neither POSITIVE nor NEGATIVE so we can determine the SPECIFIC GRAVITY of the situation.
