VG's Homebuilt
« on: November 26, 2011, 04:31:39 AM »
I'm building a plane in the garage!  ;D These pics are from a while ago when I was working on the ribs. (Rib is rib #2.) The plane is an Acey Duecy (P-70) parasol-type single engine two-seater. Not one of the fastest types there is...
But anyway, enjoy the pics and roll out the comments!

  • It's not an old plane, it's a classic!

Nice!  I love those classic homebuilts.  I've got a Challenger I recently finished, and will be building a Bearhawk Patrol next, but I eventually want to build a parasol or bipe.  Something like a Baby Ace or Hatz.  So keep the pictures coming!

Yep, still here in Alaska.  I do have a heated hangar now.  I keep it at about 55 degrees in the winter, But I started the Challenger in a tiny garage in a rented duplex.

Nice start VG, hope you get as much enjoyment out of building an aircraft as I did. Be warned - it is addictive - I am scheming a second project now!
If it was supposed to be easy, everyone would be doing it!

We have one wing's ribs mounted on the spars now. We are currently working on the compression tubes. More pictures coming!
