O/T Hobbies
« on: February 21, 2011, 04:19:33 PM »
So, I was kind of wondering:

What do you guys do when you're not flying, thinking about flying, saving money for the next flight lesson, read aviation magazines, and so forth....

What kind of hobbies do you have besides aviation?

Any?

3 years ago, I had this crazy idea of building my own house. I liked the experience and since then, my hobbies consist of building/reparing/upgrading friends/relatives houses. My house is build on a nice forest and my project for next summer, building a small (24X20) wood house accessible only by foot in my "backyard". I'll be powered by propane, heated by a fireplace.

Nice place for my mother in law to live during the summer months, cool place for me during hunting season, usefull for any friends/family at winter for a few days break in a quiet place.

Next 15+ years projects: building a garage large enough so I can build a RV-10 in it. That should occupy me until retirement and if I still have enough money to put fuel on the airplane, I'll go see Mike at Chickenwings booth on the 2030 airventure at Oshkosh for the unveiling ceremony of the first animated CW video.  ;)

Since I can't fly for real, I spend a lot of time flying online with some friends of mine.  I founded a group that focuses on Fire Fighting and flying Vintage aircraft.  If the sun is shining, and thank god it finally is, I chase a little white ball all over some great real estate.

God damn that helicopter! how do I pass the catapult level?

I enjoy photography, got six years of experience under my belt, I bought my first, and still my main camera when I was twelve, it's a great Fujifilm Finepix S5200/5600, my other two are film cameras, not digital, one is the Olympus OM-1 MD,which, when it was released in the 70's was the smallest SLR in the market, and 40 years later it's still considered one of the best film SLR camera in the worlds. My other film camera is the Canon Cannonet, released somewhere in the 50's, it has a faulty light meter,so I use it mainly for long exposure, since you can lock the shooting button and the shutter stays open for as much as you want, my longest exposure is about ninety minutes. I have started to learn photography professionally only this year and recently opened an account on Flickr- http://www.flickr.com/photos/nitayr

My other hobby is music,I enjoy making music and finding new ways to make music or manipulating instruments to sound completely different, and, of course, I love to listen to music.
I actually released an EP and at the end of producing an album, you can check my works here in my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/?sk=lf#!/pages/Pitz/117899208244243

And, of course, AVIATION!

A few nice pictures! On first page, what is this building looking like build on a cavern? You should change the name of your image file on flickr to be something more significant. This way, your pictures will be better referenced by search engine.

I would take a hint on this one too. I think you need to move the catapult more to the right but my helicopter is smashed by the box each time I launch the catapulp.

It's the Kibbutz's old grocery store, it haven't been used in a while. it's right after the fireworks in the Israeli independence day and the thing that looks like the northern light above the building is the smoke from the fireworks lit by the lights behind the building.
