He may have not gone exactly the right way about this, I can see what you guys are saying, but:
Where are the Feds in all this? What is TSA saying?
I thought not following the flight crews orders is a Federal offence just like it is tampering with the smoke detectors?
How come the passenger hasn't been held responsible or charged with assault?
To me this looks an awful lot like one of those cases where tha cops shoot a kid and everybody gets all up in arms about how bad the cops are, especially if the kid was of a certain ethnicity.
And at the same time everybody forgets that the kid just robbed a store and shot the clerk.
And also:
How did he get all the way to his car without anybodt stopping him?
I see a little flaw in airport security as well.
That's why I also liked the Barefoot Bandit in a way because he brought up some major security issues about our airports.
And what about the underwear bomber?
In all of these cases, the TSA has failed us. But they did make me feel safer by taking my toothpaste which was in a container (3 squeezes left but none the less) of more than 3oz.
One of our posters "Fabo" actually just mentioned something to that matter in the "Funny Aviation Videos" section. I really liked his comment.
Back to the FA. He didn't really endanger anybody by doing what he was doing. The aircraft was safely on the ground. He made a major point that brought up a lot of issues.
Maybe that's what it takes sometimes. The airline will deal with the "theft" and popping the slide I am sure.
And of course, being who I am and what I do here, I love the comical aspect of the whole incident
