The BBC aired a short interview with the Captain yesterday -- whew!! He said he just knew they could not make the airport.... he said he thought "Well, we're all going to be dead", in so many words... but, they cleared the highway by mere meters and got it down.....
Pretty amazing.... the thought of dealing with the aircraft itself would be bad enough, but knowing they were responsible for all those poeple behind them...
And, to have all that running through his mind when they were less than one minute from touchdown!
He was quite emotional and I was impressed as hell.
