First off, I know it's been awhile since I've been here. I haven't had Internet since April because of a move. I don't miss it, but I do wish I could hit my haunts from time to time. I'm at a library right now.
Anyway, I moved to Kilgore, TX from Abilene, TX and am going to school in Longview (LeTourneau University). I intend to start a career in Aviation Maintenance. My degree program is Aviation Maintenance with a Concentration in Electrical Systems. Basically, I will be an Electrical Engineer with an A&P.
I volunteered at an EAA Young Eagle Day one day and looked around at all of the pilots and their jobs. I quickly came to the conclusion that I didn't need to fly professionally to fly. I simply realized I needed a good job. I had worked as an avionics tech in the Marine Corps. Honestly, I wasn't very good at it. I was not living up to my potential. Since then, I've been working on squashing bad habits and addictions while building my mind and motivation. I see a lot of hard work with learning the skills it takes and to pay attention to what I'm told. I've been working to unlearn my previous mindset, and come at school with a brand new mind for the job and the career. So, here's to a new career with much less screwing around. Here's to more of me having my head in the game.
Perhaps you'll have a chance to see me in the years to come. I will appreciate any and all comments made here. I just have to make a disclaimer. I don't know when I'll be back, so don't get discouraged if I don't reply soon, and don't get mad if I bump this topic if it hasn't been active for awhile. Keep doing what you guys do best, and I'll see you around when I get a chance.
