Swiss potato "cake"
« on: June 04, 2006, 11:23:56 AM »
Hy guys!

I just was thinking about my lunch of totay, so I thought to write down how to cook a really Swiss "Rösti":

It's very simple, you only need:

  • potatoes
  • salt
  • butter

Boil the potatoes, shred them and fry them with butter and some salt in a pan.
At the beginning just stir all from time to time, then at the end let it fry for itself for about three or four minutes, so you get a nice crispy "surface" when you serve it.
This basic recipe you can use as a side dish.

If you like to make it out a complete meal, you can put in things like:
  • cheese
  • ham
  • eggs
  • onions
  • tomatoes
  • bacon
Of course you also can put in other things.

As you see, it's really easy to cook it  |:)\

Enjoy and let me know if you found other things to put in ;)

Bye
Steep

For those people who are unable to cook I would advice a non sticky pan.................
I give that landing a 9 . . . on the Richter scale.
