So as i realized, you ALL have the fear of heights !? Jeesus christ! Its only air ! And massive gravity....9.8g.....umm...100x9.8 per second...1k80kg. per ......oooh jeeesus...mommy :o
;D Good job of pointing out the fear of falling is not a valid thing---It's the fear of the impact on landing that bothers me the most--- and if I do holler "Jesus" it's because I figure I'll be meeting Him in a couple of minutes! 8)

good point! I would be worried about being in a cockpit and start praying! ;) ;)
I give that landing a 9 . . . on the Richter scale.

FlyingBlind, I was looking around internet and I found a quote that it's appropriate for your sport:

"Both optimists and pessimists contribute to the society. The optimist invents the aeroplane, the pessimist the parachute"......
— George Bernard Shaw

 ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

You know, its not the falling, that kills. It’s the sudden stop.

However, due to the fact that both my parents did that sport I got close contact to aviation. And my chance to enter this area. After the death of my father I’ve seen many other parajumpers. Cool and good people.  |:)\

And, danger is everywhere. One can die in being frightened to death. So, please, go on and stay as you are. I understand parajumpers and their thoughts and know the sayings of the pilots. ;D
If helicopter flying would be difficult, engineers would do it.

Good God Roland. I’m sorry to hear that.
I admire you. I mean, being able to cope with it and accepting the danger and still understanding the needs of jumping. I really hope you overcame the bad moments....

Don’t worry, land, it’s a looong time ago. In the meantime I’ve lost so many friends and colleges by “normal” accidents. Both, fixed and rotary wings. :'(

I think, to survive it is necessary to know about the danger. To close the eyes is deadly. In any case.

Ya wee lilly pilots :P
Come on now, parachuting is not a sport, hobby thing that should be feared! Remember it beats bungee jumping (Bungee jumping does NOT have a emergency shute, now does it ?) |:)\
Although the tragic loss of ones father....is another thing
