A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 am ESTWednesday for the St. Lawrence Valley of New York and north-centraland northeastern Vermont... including the western slopes of thenorthern Green Mountains. Through mid- morning Wednesday... storm totalsnowfall amounts of 6 to 10 inches... with isolated amounts up to12 inches... are expected in these areas.Accumulating snow is developing rapidly this morning fromsouthwest to northeast across the north country. Look for snow tocontinue heavy at times this afternoon... followed by periods ofsnow tonight into Wednesday morning.The highest snowfall amounts with this storm are expected near theinternational border. Both the St. Lawrence Valley of New York andnorth central and northeast Vermont will see storm total snowfallamounts ranging from 6 to 10 inches... with isolated amounts up to12 inches possible. In addition... as Arctic air moves into the region Wednesdaymorning in the wake of the low pressure system... areas of blowingand drifting snow can be expected as northerly winds gust up to35 mph.Travel will likely become difficult today. If you must travel... allow plenty of extra time to reach your destination. Also... besure you have a full tank of gas in your vehicle.
