I've always had prompt help from their medical section, email and phone.

I've emailed Phil Boyer twice, once about the amazing service I had through my flight school during training, and once about my thoughts on the sweepstakes.  Both times he got back to me within a day or two.  Really nice to know he actually reads through all the email he gets.

Oh... Phil Boyer's email address at AOPA is top secret....  it's phil.boyer@aopa.org   ;D  He puts it right on the "President's Page" on the site :)

He's a really great guy, and very responsive to people both in person, and via email in my experience.

Well guys,
I wrote Phil just like you suggested with a bunch of questions and also proposing to re-vamp the old and outdated safety-posters. I was suggesting putting a new and fun spin on them just like I told you guys and wanted to see if he has any info or advice for me.

I didn't get a response at all. Not even a Hi or Not Interested.  :'( :(
And I am a member not just a solicitor (we were even thinking of doing this for them for free)

Maybe he just really doesn't like me or Chicken Wings or I am the only guy who never gets a response.... :(

Well that stinks. How long ago did you write him? The AOPA Open House was just held and they're probably all busy getting over that. (If you want to see some TIRED people... visit EAA HQ two weeks after Airventure!)

Maybe what you need is to get to know somebody in the organization and get an inside line as to exactly what they're looking for, how things work, etc.

Another thing would be to get poor slobs like me who are going to Airventure to pester people at the AOPA tent (something I need to do anyway to find out if they're going to use the damned article of mine they accepted for Flight Training last year). I say that but having talked with the names behind the publications of the organization over the years, they're great folks... just swamped.

I too think the delay may be associated with the recent event they had, and recovery from it.  I'd say that if you don't hear anything back in a couple of weeks, try re-sending.  I've always found email responses to be fairly prompt, but he may simply be swamped.  Give it a little time to calm down on the probable email storm after such events, and you may have better luck.

If all else fails, you could try the public relations folks over there too.  Keep your chin up... I'm sure you'll get a response sometime soon.

hmm...
I did send the mail about 4 - 5 weeks ago. I can check.

Maybe I'll give it a lttle more time.

Thanks TM!
A little pestering and asking about us by name would be great and highly appreciated.   |:)\  |:)\  |:)\
Maybe that will get their attention.

on the other hand:
We got rejected by the German magazine "Fliegermagazin" (the biggest German magazine) several times in the past, sometimes we didn't even get a response.
And then, the other day, they called us and wanted strips (new management, new image) out of the blue.
Not bad, huh?!
