ALL women are grrrrreat ! ::bow::   God gave them most of the patience, good looks, talent, and intelligence-----------can anyone tell me why that is?   ::thinking::

What women have you been hanging around with?  'Cuz it would seem I've been running across those who only got half-rations of the above!

Guess I don't know about "women"---just know about "woman"--I got her, you can't have her <smiley sticking tongue out>

You can keep her.  At this point in my life, there's no woman who'd put up with my work, no matter how patient she is!  I haven't been back to my hometown in over two months now.

Thank you, I will (at 6 feet tall, she's too much woman for most guys anyway) ::)

Gone for 2 months ::eek:: sounds like a real gypsy lifestyle adventure---and at your age, that's a good thing!   One day, you will regale a future generation of pilots and offspring with tales of nomadic deeds, misdeeds, and experiences.      "my new assistant was dyslexic and the banner should have read -Duck Footwear-" ::banghead::

I stay that R/C was basing his experience on his wife / who is russian / so to conclude, you go for Slavic girls and you get it. Just for one - try and look onto www.pilotka.cz  ;)

HAW HAW, SEVERE TURBULENCE AND LIGHTNING......  AW, MAN, I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!  YOU HAVE NO RESPECT!!!  I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU MAKE MY DAY, WHAT CAN I SAY...........    ::bow::       ::whistle::       ::whistle::        ::drinking::       ::loony::

But hey -- on the serious side -- men are just as full of crap as women....  I wish it wasn't true....  but they say the following PAP:   :(

"Ohhhh, wow, that is SO COOL... you FLY...."

Then....  add in 6-8 months of me being gone, on the road, and then SOMEHOW, SUDDENLY, it's NOT "SO COOL" at all.....  it's just another pain-in-the-ass job where you have to work hard to make it home at all.......

So, I have learned (and sometimes wish I hadn't), that men like to SAY they think it's "cool" to know a woman who "flies", but yes, they feel just as theatened by the fact that I do spend a lifetime of wild moments with an airplane, that they will never be a part of, and YES, they do get quite threatened by it.....  I mean, how do they compete with the Minivan, when she has taken me through the black halls of lightning and thunder?  It tells me everything when a "date" stands there uncomfortably at a big jumper party, and squirms in discomfort when they all come up and high-five me, for "getting them through it".

I'm not blowing smoke, I'm just saying there is a comraderie amongst fire people (especially) and PILOTS (in general), and when others are around it, they either just respect it (without understanding AT ALL ---- e.g., my family   :)  ), OR.......  they just kind of disappear....  POOF!!  (most men).

I wish I was fibbing, but...  the proof of the pudding (to me) is when guys think I am just GREAT, until they find out what I do for a lliving....   [See Above "Poof"]  HAAAAAAAAAA   HAAAAAAAAA

Okay...  that's my 2 cents' worth...  and YES, YES, I KNOW....  there's NO WAY it even comes close to two cents..........
     ;)
Don't make me come back there!!!!

S'mom, I don't doubt it for a minute.  That's why I changed the thread title from "women" to "significant others".  I've gotten the "poof" response more than once myself.  I seem to be skipping the "That's so cool" part lately.  Hmm...

At 50, she would definitely fall into the "cougar" category for you  ;)----but, you should never disqualify someone because of age--my son's wife is also 50  ::bow::

HAWWWWW  HAWWWWWWW.....  "hung like a hamster"....  Now, THAT'S a mental image I coulda done without......    :D

That's okay....  I've found a new LOVE....   :-*     :-*     :-*     :-*   as of quitting time tonight.......

I happened to inquire here at the FBO as to what they'd need to get an hour or two in a Husky.....  they are so nice here....  they said to "just let them know".....

I polished the new numbers on the ole credit card, screwed up my courage, and asked...  Imagine my surprise when the owner offered to have me hop along and go out to their private grass strip....

Long story short, I just had Christmas in October...  an entire evening of flying a gorgeous Husky with a super nice guy, playing in the mountains and landing (well, okay, TRYING to land) at their beautiful strip.....  got to watch them flying their Stearman off the grass and playing, also..  with a golden setting sun......  then got a tour of the many more planes in their hangar...  I'm having such an ENVY attack, it's not even funny...  But WOW, what NICE people....  they insisted I go out for supper with them also....

What a fun, fun, fun airplane......  full flaps and not even full throttle, and you leap off the ground in a couple hundred feet.....  I'm still babbling to myself.....  ;D

I LOVE THAT AIRPLANE!  And don't worry, I patted the Minivan on her nose and told her she was still my favorite....    ::)

But......  Santa now has to stuff a Husky in with the other items I ask for every winter...........   ;)

Get 2 pilots together at a table (very easy to do at UND), and the conversation always turns to flying, much to the chagrin of the others at the table.  My friends used to complain so much, we would talk about flying just to annoy them.  It's no wonder 1/2 the campus doesn't like the aviation department.  Thank God I'm well rounded and joined the band, otherwise I'd never have found my wife.

I'm lucky my current Girlfriend puts up with all my ATC crap.  Especially as much as I complain now about how badly the FAA is treating us.  Its funny to watch when we're in our group (roughly 3 pilots, me and a bunch of girls that are nursing/nutrition majors) the girls all run, and the pilots try to take me on.  I've gotten to the point of telling Angie to just hit me if I start talking about airplanes.

PS. she wants to get her PP so she can fly with me.  I think I've won!
