Title: Swiss potato "cake"
Post by: SteepTurn on June 04, 2006, 11:23:56 AM
Hy guys!
I just was thinking about my lunch of totay, so I thought to write down how to cook a really Swiss "Rösti":
It's very simple, you only need:
potatoes
salt
butter
Boil the potatoes, shred them and fry them with butter and some salt in a pan. At the beginning just stir all from time to time, then at the end let it fry for itself for about three or four minutes, so you get a nice crispy "surface" when you serve it. This basic recipe you can use as a side dish.
If you like to make it out a complete meal, you can put in things like:
cheese
ham
eggs
onions
tomatoes
bacon
Of course you also can put in other things.
As you see, it's really easy to cook it |:)\
Enjoy and let me know if you found other things to put in ;)
Bye Steep
