Some terrible things are happening in my personal life just now so i might not be around as much, so for now im leaving da coop to get things stowed away and to get my college work back up to a higher standard. It was good knowing you all and i hope to be back in ASAP so keep a space free on the ramp for me and my models happy flying and may all your landings equal your take offs.

Nah! We all know the real reason you're leaving is that you plan on restoring a Lancaster and want it to be a surprise when you offer us to ride in it with you on the controls! Not a good lier there Oddball!

Thanks for your thoughts they mean a lot to me ::bow:: If only i was restoring a lanc it would be a lot easier to do than sort out the mess im going through just now. but i guess if i did the crew would be: Bomb aimer: Gil Pilot: Ryan Flight Engineer: Me Navigator: Stef Radio operator: Mary Mid upper Gunner: Mike and "Tail end Charlie" (rear gunner): i'll let the rest of the coop fight for that position as long as you let me know the result. the contest will be online rock, paper, sicssors best out of 19 lol.

Easier said then done but I've "been there-done that" and I know there has to be a positive solution.

But probably he means "man flu" as opposed to "bird flu" ?
@ Oddball: Sorry to hear you're going through a rough time now. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you! Get well soon and hang on in there!! There'll be some plain sailing times in the future again, I'm sure!
And I'd be the navigator, huh? Hm... I don't know how good I'd be at that, but two things are for sure: 1) There would be a lot of little chickens scribbled all over the charts and 2) We would never stop and ask for directions! ::)

thats why i picked you as the navigator stef since you are good at drawing i thought you would be able to tell us what all the symbols mean lol. i can here you now of the R/T "turn left at the next Hen".
a Corkscrew manouver in a lancaster basicly looks like the way a rollercoster moves at a fair ground or amusment park, and it is usually the gunners tells the pilot which way to start it by calling out "CORKSCREW PORT!" or "CORKSCREW STARBOARD!" a lancaster is very aerobatic like most AVRO products, when the prototype MK1 was first fown the test pilot barrel rolled it same with the prototype Vulcan that got rolled in front of a crowd as soon as it had enough height.
"man flu" for those who dont know is when you get the simple cold and you make out its the flu and you are dying etc lol

Man flu.... Harrumph! >:( The last time I cancelled a flight I had a stomach flu so bad that I couldn't stay farther away from the toilet than my living room couch! ::sick:: ::sick:: ::sick:: I was running a solid 104F fever, I couldn't eat anything other than Pepto-Bismol (I puked the Immodium AD right back out) for about 5 days, and I lost about 10 pounds or so during the illness. I was one proud SOB when I finally took a solid dump!
I get head colds all the time courtesy of my two little children, but since I am a one-man flight department I fly unless I have a seriously debilitating disease. People are counting on me, after all. |:)\ |:)\ |:)\ |:)\ |:)\ |:)\

almost everybody has little kids all of a sudden and all the babies were sick, and now me

NEWS JUST IN! NEWS JUST IN!......UPDATE:
here's a up date right i thought i would have to leave you for a bit but i was wrong i have now moved away, and officially single so by the looks of it ill still be able to log in regularly, post and go to chat (thanks s'mom ;)0 ) so that's the story so far at least this free time will let me concentrate on my studies and hope fully graduate as a Beng aircraft engineer (any one need a engineer soon that needs experience around may?). so thanks everyone for your support ::bow:: ::bow::

Definitely, it has to be that way, what else would stop mechanics from screwing up planes ? And if mechanics screwed up aircraft on a regular basis, what would you need pilots for ?

I started this thread some time ago now after my break up with my ex and now my course is officialy finished i failed my BSc/ Beng course and had some assessments to re submit. well lets say after some time away from college a lot of night shifts and needing a holiday to de-stress (thats coming up in september hopfully) ive decided to quit now i dont have the motivation to carry on doing them, but i will not quit trying to get a job as a mech that will be 4yrs wasted besides im sure i can go back and try to get back into the course again at a future time. so im off to harass British Airways and any other company that i can find either in the phone book or on the 'net by sending them my details to see about getting a job.
