Aparently, salami contains nitrates which will burn like rocket fuel---never saw the episode but I guess myth busters tried to make a rocket with salami..
Calling Frank or Baridium, I'm sure one of you guys has researched Salami rockets.. ::thinking:: ::thinking::

Glad my mental incompetence has been so well received. ::banghead:: Too much Eggnog already, I guess.
The episode of Mythbusters I was referring to was actually two (Episode 51- Confederate Rocket, and Episode 64- More Myths Revisited). During the first attempt, they confirmed that a salami can be used as an effective solid rocket fuel. The first test was done in the shop (which subsequently lit much of it on fire). In Episode 64 when they revisited it, they had a better triggering mechanism between the nitrous oxide and the salami, but the actual "launch" was only about 20ft. Still confirmed, though.
Love Mythbusters....especially when they do cool stuff with airplanes (like handprop a Cessna and then shred the living daylights out of another plane)

I remember how Chuck "pimped out" the Cessna before, so this is gonna be good to watch ......with binoculars from a safe distance ! ;)
a few guys on my course have built jet engines from lorry superchargers hey mike/stef make that into a strip lol one guy even wanted to make a jet from a can of beans loltheres another idea if mike or stef make those into a strip i want royalties lol
