Something healthy

It’s a scientific fact, that a healthy diet doesn’t reduce your risk of dying at all. Also, what would life be like without pizza? Right? Case closed. Although I have to say that, the older I get, the more I get picky and sensitive about the stuff I eat, and I also get more conscious about my health. Recently I tried to reduce my intake of sugar. It’s really hard! I heard about people who manage to cut out processed sugar out of their diet completely. I wonder if I could do that. It would literally turn shopping into a scavenger hunt, where 90% of all products are just there for distraction.

Is anybody in here on a special diet? Anybody who’s on a ketogenic, paleo or primal diet or something like that? Because that concept sounds really interesting, but I just can’t seem to find the time to get started and try it out.

I figured I best do all diets at once, so I eat them all: vegetarian, frutarien, vegan, raw Foods, paleo, mediterran, ketogenic. I’ll just have a look on the menu and decide which diet to use today πŸ™‚

I just eat whatever’s in the airport vending machine, or leftover catering from the jets…I guess that’s the Aviation Diet.

As a student pilot seemed like all I ate was those cheese and peanut butter crackers because they were cheap.

I seem to have hit a median-weight that self regulates. I am quite heavy, but I don’t feel like I have too much weight and no matter how little or much I eat it always bunches around the same number. It is probably in our DNA how we react to food and where the median-weight ends up.
Then again eating healthy doesn’t need to be difficult. I eat an apple almost every day and try to cook from fresh ingredients. I usually just eat too much, because fresh ingredients have the habit of tasting good. I would also go nuts if I don’t get the occasional treat.
“Alles in Maßen” as they say, don’t eat too much of one thing. A bit of everything. Makes for nice variety and is usually the healthiest diet.

  4. If you’re bringing science into it, avoid Paleo ‘cos it too has been proven to be crap. Besides, you don’t need science to know Paleolithic man was usually dead by 30 (avg for women = 30, for men = 35)

Reduce our risk of dying? Of course not. Our risk of dying is 1.000000000 and no diet (nor any drug or religion or whatever) is going to change that.

That said, I prefer to live on the better side, which for me includes as little commercial food as possible – no McDo or their lookalikes for me, pizza, very sparingly, from the Aldi. Perhaps one day I’ll learn to make my own.

Always realise the whole purpose of the food business (like, in fact, any business) is to make you pay as much as possible for as little quality and quantity as you’ll be pleased with. Only the fewest people create/sell food with other than mentary purposes – high among them rank vegetarian eateries; but they tend to be expensive and quasi-religious. My best ever eatery was run by some Bhagwan disciples – not unexpectedly, it didn’t last very long.
