Bi-annual routine pilot swap

Man, is it hot again today! We really have a serious heat wave going on here in central Europe. I’m not (really) complaining, I absolutely prefer heat to coldness. It’s just that sometimes, when it’s too hot, my brain slows down. So, as it’s currently 36°C (97°F) in my office, I can’t be bothered with coming up with a blog right now, I hope you understand! Fortunately, I can’t be swapped out with the comic artist next door!

Been a bit warm here as well, but then it is North Texas in August. 100F/38C is not unheard of.

Might miss this once I move to Wisconsin/Michigan (my job is to move about an hour and a half north of Oshkosh) … oh, who am I kidding, I shall miss it not one whit and I’ll just laugh at the folks up there complaining when it hits 90 or so for more than two days in a row.

JP. It’s been terribly here in Michigan too. It hit 90 here for the first time in 2 years, it’s just insufferably hot.

You can laugh at us for the heat, if I can laugh at southerners for thinking it’s the start of an ice age when the temps get down to the 50’s.

Finally had A/C installed this year, and loving it.
Portland Oregon is not normally hot enough to bother with it, but this year is an exception, with quite a few days of 100+ so far.

rwill, I am a displaced Yooper, so I know it can get hot there. 16 or so years ago I was home for Independence Day , and at 5pm the 3rd of July, the temp was 95 and the previous week or so the temps had been over 90. At noon the 4th, the high was 42. Of my relatives, at that time only two had an air conditioner, one because she has heart issues and the other was “rich” and my uncle had just built the house a few years before. She was the first of our relatives to have AC in a car :-), now you can’t buy one without it.
The house I grew up in now has AC too.

Just to nitpick on this common mistake: if it’s every two years, it is “biennial”. “Biannual” means “twice a year”.

Man, I’m currently a bit miffed. Our airplane just got a new cylinder and has been sitting at the shop for weeks. I thought I could pick it up today, but the forecast was terrible, so I called it off. As it turns out, the weather today is great. 🙁

    So we went swimming. 🙂
