While I admit that camping has its charms, I am not a big fan of camping in masses. But that might be because my only mass-camping experiences are from music festivals, where the shower and toilet facilities were mediocre at best and where drunk bellowing people wouldn’t really enhance the sleeping experience.
I’m sure it’s quite different here. So, all of you who do or did camp here, what is Oshkosh like at night?
And although we’ve already been around here for a couple of days, today is our first official appearance at the EAA author’s corner! Check it out! You can meet us at the following times:
Thursday, July 26th, from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Friday, July 27th, from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Saturday July 28th, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
… and we’ll probably be hanging around a bit longer after that. Looking forward to meet you in person!

Brrr…sleeping on metal would be COLD!
Well, if Chuck would fly an Ercoupe, his “landing” would have been a bit softer.
Meganite: You just need a good insulating mat. I know of people who sleep on the load floor of their pickups most of their camping holidays.
