Have you ever had to answer the phone about a noise complaint? I have! Some of these anti-airport people take this stuff very serious to a point were not even being friendly or making a joke to lighten the mood will help. But I have often wondered if it isn’t the “making a joke” part where I usually go wrong.
Quick thinking on Nobu’s part though, huh?! Poor Chuck might get his beak rung (or is it “bell rung”?)

The only problem like that we had at the airport I worked at was a guy built a house with a tall antenna right at the end of a runway. So they made him take down the antenna. He didn’t know there was a runway there and and at the time didn’t know anything about airports or planes. A few years latter by the time I left that job he was flying his own Piper Lance.
I have had noise complaints…lots of them.
The strangest one however was the “speeding complaint” I got at the drop zone one morning. It took me a while to figure out what the caller was on about, turned out some of the special forces guys was late for their training and gunned their cars down the public road to get to the drop zone. Nothing to do with us!
I happen to be on good terms with their instructors, lets just say some of them did not drive back to base that afternoon…tehe!
Lot of noise complaint at the drop zone!
From people moving in AFTER the strip was built… The surrounding houses are usually sold in winter (no skydiving activities), and the realestate agents sometime ‘forget’ to talk about the skydiving club open 7days a week…
That skydiving club is open from 9am to 12am, then 2pm to 7pm. So, it’s not so bad for the neighbourhood. But, if the plane land at 7:02, the neighbour open a complain at the local police force
