Scary tales

I just spent about ten minutes racking my brain about what title to use for today’s comic strip. It’s always a trade-off between being funny, so as to entice the reader and maybe add an extra level of humor, or being accurate, so as to make it search engine friendly and easy to find when somebody’s rummaging through the archives. All that without giving away the punchline, of course. Well, and when I can’t come up with something good, I end up with a title like today.

Anyway, I’m sure we all have had moments like Chuck before, when we woke up and were glad to find out it was all just a dream. In the last few months, since son #2 started to sleep a little bit better, I have started to have more dreams again. I rather enjoy that! Although there’s the odd uncomfortable or stressful dream, it’s a bit like free TV or movies. If it just wasn’t so very hard to express your dreams in words, or remember them in the first place. I wonder if we’ll ever get to a technological level where we are able to record dreams! Although I’m a technological optimist, I highly doubt it. At least in the next few hundred years.

Once, on a long car trip, my aunt was trying to get some sleep, but my uncle’s snoring woke her up.

Stef, this is one of your best strips, in my opinion. I like the surprise effect of the third panel, and Chuck’s straight face while telling… the truth!
