Please, kind sir.
It’s always good to be prepared for every eventuality. Well, maybe not *every* eventuality, because then you would probably never be done preparing. Having inherited a perfectionist trait from my father, it’s a bit of a learned skill for me, but I now embrace the 90% rule in many aspects of my life. I try eating right 90% of the time, so it doesn’t matter if I pig out on sweets once in a while. Or being frugal 90% of the time, so I can afford a little luxury here and there. And in most cases I have to tune down from 100% or 99% to that 90% level. Now if only I could get the organization and cleanliness level in my office to 90%, that would be an enormous boon. But in that case it would mean an increase, up from 30 or 40% or something.
“Excellent! One last question and you pass the checkride! What… is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?”
Mine needs a 90% increase!
@ Joshua: Do you mean a European or an African swallow?
@ Jonathan: At least you can still find your keyboard! 🙂
