No flying today
We’ve actually been getting a little bit of snow here in the last couple of days. Not enough to last until Christmas, of course, but I would guess that the chances for a white Christmas are better than ever this year. Not for my brother though, who just arrived in ‘Straya today. But here in Austria … we’ll see!
Please forgive me for keeping this here short, but I actually have to go and just remembered that I hadn’t uploaded today’s strip yet! So, tada! See you next Friday!!
That snow ramp looks like it took a huge amount of effort to build – probably the most effort I’ve ever seen Chuck exert for anything. Use of a snowblower could help, but even then it wouldn’t be a quick or easy job.
I’ve never had a white Christmas. I live in Southeast Louisiana. We do get the occasional “sneaux”. The whole city shuts down.
will be my first white xmas in years as I moved back to the U.P. of Michigan earlier this year.
And to welcome me, when I hit Marinette WI, on May 14th, it snowed. I unloaded a U-Haul
in snow flurries. Not having a month plus at 100f temps was nice.
On the other hand, I had to go buy a snow blower last week.
@Magnoire,
I was in Louisiana for the N.O. snow of iirc ’89. the 20 minute drive out to where I lived in Kenner took 2 and a half hours. I recall the April snow that fell down around Houma and Chauvin (early to mid ’90s) and a few others out in Kenner that I can’t seem to find years for.
As a Yankee it was entertaining but I will say it is worse for driving because normally it is a rain, freeze, black ice, then a dusting of snow atop that to make it really slick.
Then I moved to DFW TX, and they get a bit more snow, more often. Still about shuts down the place.
And herein Northern Manitoba, we get snow like that and nothing really changes It’s normal! How things differ from place to place…
