Looks like we’ve got a rat

And the “Rat Saga” goes on. Looking at all your posts from earlier this week it seems to me that snakes are almost a bigger problem than rats. EEEK! I have never had one in the hangar or inside an aircraft but I did almost get bit by a rattler in Nevada when I was reaching underneath the helicopter to unhook the Bambi bucket. It had curled up on the control head of the bucket in the shade underneath the aircraft and was only inches away from my hand. Never rattled actually, just lunged. It did occur to me that I wasn’t sure who would fly ME out of the desert if I was bitten. We were in the middle of nowhere. Believe me, I was way more vigilant for the remainder of the season. After all that is yet another thing they don’t teach you in flight school …

I am actually not sure we have had Chuck and Julio encounter snakes yet. But it does seem like there might be some potential for a comical situation if they do. Any ideas?

Just remember that snakes on a plane has been way overused.

Nice! I liked today’s comic! Don’t panic, Sally!

Bo, I’m really sorta annoyed at all these aggravating snakes on this reasonably airworthy plane.

I was going to fly an A320 simulator (just for fun), and as I have never flown anything so big, I tought that reading some manuals first would help a little bit.
In the hydraulic panel there was a button named “RAT MAN ON”, and the manual said: “DO NOT TOUCH THIS BUTTON, THE RAT WILL FALL OUT (Even on the ground)”
It took me a couple of seconds to realize that it referred to the Ram Air Turbine, and not some furry critter that would drop dead on the tarmac if I pressed the button. 🙂

In Greece during WWII, my Daddy discovered a skunk under his pilot’s seat. Luckily, it was scared by the engines and instead of spraying, it ran out the door (Gooney Bird) but then, it ran into a hanger.

All these snake stories, I almost stepped on a rattler a couple days ago. Was driving along a country road at night, pulled off to “relieve myself.” Walked around to the non-road side of the car and heard the rattling noise. Stepped back so my body reflected the headlight, and could just make it out, coiled up beside the car, right where I had been about to stand. That gave me a little shot of adrenaline, to say the least. I then did my business in the area lit up by my headlights, the hell if anyone sees me! Was very glad to get back in the snake-proof metal box and drive away. I’m just really glad those things have rattles, without such (as in all other venomous snakes) it would have ended a bit differently.

Well, using a poisonous snake to solve a rodent problem sounds like Chuck.

OOH! That’s great stuff, you guys!
Love the rubber snake idea and the “use snake to get rid of rat” idea !!

Chuck will leave nothing unturned to find the little rodent in the Cessna…..

Wouldn’t it be amusing if the rat were anthropomorphic, just like the chickens?

“Sorry, mate. I couldn’t resist chewin’ on your box of rivets.”

    “Wait, Chuck’s flying? …we’re all gonna die…”
